St. Paul Area Synod

In June 2005, the Saint Paul Area Synod of the ELCA formailized a companion synod relationship with the Augustinian Lutherna Church of Guatemala - La Iglesia Luterana Agustina de Guatemala (ILAG).   The relationship exists for the purpose of strengthening one another for life and mission within the body of Christ.  Through it we learn about the global challenges Christ offers us and deepen our commitment and discipleship as individual persons and as a community of faith.  

The Guatemalan Companion Synod Task Force, comprised of representatives from a number of churches in the synod, oversees the relationship.
